Many of SCOSaG’s programs take advantage of our beautiful setting in Tower Grove Park. We are located in a historic landmark, the South Gate Lodge.
Built in 1888, this cozy “cottage castle” has seen over 100 years of history pass through its doors. In the past, it has been living quarters for grounds keepers. More recently, for twenty-five years, it was the park office; and for the past ten years it has been home to many young artists and their mentors.
The South Gate Lodge offers countless discoveries as visitors peruse its interior and exterior decorative architecture and antique fixtures – not to mention all the art!
